PROGRAMS

Recess programs support the creation of rigorous new work while offering the public unique access to the artist’s creative process, transforming the artist’s studio into a site for public discourse and rendering the exhibition space a malleable platform for collaboration, revision, and play.

Actively defining contemporary art, Recess supports ambitious projects that do not fit squarely in the context of existing institutional models and operate outside of the dominant art market.

Working onsite, online, and in conjunction with strategic partners, artists and audiences address complex social, formal, and intellectual questions.[/ac_image]
