Recess is proud to host the ninth edition of the Brooklyn Art Book Fair (BKABF), organized by Endless Editions.
Taking place July 10–12, BKABF is a free, volunteer-run fair dedicated to showcasing publications and editioned works by underrepresented and emerging artists, writers, publishers, and cultural organizers. Since its founding in 2017, BKABF has challenged the traditional art book fair model by providing exhibition space to all participants free of charge, creating a non-competitive environment where independent publishing can flourish.
This year's fair features more than 60 exhibitors spanning artist-run presses, zine makers, independent publishers, archives, activist organizations, and interdisciplinary artists working across print culture. Alongside the exhibitor fair, visitors can explore artist-led programming, conversations, workshops, and community gatherings throughout the weekend.
Organized by Endless Editions and hosted in partnership with Recess and Garage Studios, BKABF is rooted in a commitment to accessibility, mutual aid, and artistic freedom. The fair prioritizes the needs of emerging and underrepresented artists by removing financial barriers to participation and creating opportunities for connection, collaboration, and exchange.
Admission is free and open to the public.
