Primary Information in the Resource Room

Recess is pleased to announce that special guest, Primary Information, will curate the mantels of the Resource Room during our fall season.

Two Shelves: Some day, Some Time, On a Plane to Be Determined

Selected volumes centrally tower amongst the split shelves—books owned but not yet read. Balancing their values between the wooden scales, with a spectrum encompassing literary juggernauts like Thomas Pynchon’s Gravity’s Rainbow to books on mathematical strategies, these are the texts the editors of Primary Information gathered to facilitate a fleeting function, to create links with familiar ideas or to fulfill the wishful thinking of endless leisure.

About Primary Information:
Primary Information is a non-profit organization devoted to printing artists’ books, artists’ writings, out of print publications and editions. The organization was formed in 2006 by Miriam Katzeff and James Hoff to foster intergenerational dialogue through the publication by artists—emerging, mid-career and established. Primary Information’s aim is to reach audiences throughout the world, those to whom publications can reach but galleries and museums cannot

Primary Information’s shelves will be on view during Recess’s public hours beginning September 1.
