Become a Member
Recess membership offers unique access to emerging artists and the creative sphere’s most influential cultural producers. While enjoying events, programs and tours, your membership will support working artists who define contemporary art every day at Recess. At each membership level, you may choose between a membership (good for 12 months) or a subscription membership (your membership automatically renews at the end of the year).
Gift Membership
If you are buying a membership for someone else be sure to provide the name email address of the gift recipient in the appropriate field. Gifts will be processed and recipient notified in two business days unless otherwise specified by buyer.
Membership Levels
Contributors Circle
The Contributors Circle is comprised of individuals who are interested in supporting Recess’s ambitious artists. Members of the Contributors Circle receive behind the scenes access to artists’ works in progress in our space and beyond our walls, curator-led tours of museums and galleries, and intimate conversations with NYC’s creative policy makers. Add your voice to discussions about key issues in the contemporary arts led by prominent cultural figures and artists. All members of the Contributors Circle are invited to bring a guest to events. Your choice of membership (good for 1 year) or subscription membership (annually renewing).
Supporter: $100
Creative Supporter: $40 (intended for artists, students, and cultural producers)
Sustaining Supporter: $10 a month
Commissioning Circle
Commissioning Circle members receive all of the perks of the Contributors Circle membership, while also commissioning new works by the most talented creative practitioners working today. Your support at this level allows Recess artists to create experimental projects that couldn’t happen anywhere else. Members receive a portion of the work they’ve helped realize through our editions program. All members of the Commissioning Circle are invited to bring a guest to events. Your choice of membership (good for 1 year) or subscription membership (annually renewing).
