Announcing Analog: Recess’s Online Residency

Recess Activities, Inc. is pleased to announce Analog, our new online residency program. Analog will provide a sustained, virtual space that will expand upon Recess’s mission to support contemporary artists determining the visibility of their work as well as the parameters of its presentation. This new program will also allow Recess to continue supporting the creative process of contemporary artists while reaching out to online, international audiences. For the inaugural Analog residency, Kenya (Robinson) will begin work on a 2-year project entitled Remitting Default: a Psycho-Economic Performance of Getting Skoooooled. Set to begin this summer, the project will record the artist's two-year experience as a black MFA student at Yale University while struggling to maintain her personal finances and secure fiscal support. Kenya will make her private education public, posting a daily record of the available balance in her personal checking account.
